ΡΕΝΕ ΝΙΚΟΛΑΟΥ
Γεννημένη στην Αθήνα η Ρενέ Νικολάου ξεκίνησε τις μουσικές της σπουδές από πολύ μικρή ηλικία. Με καθηγήτρια στο πιάνο τη Σοφία Γαρουφαλή απέκτησε Πτυχίο και Δίπλωμα πιάνου με «Άριστα παμψηφεί και τιμητικό έπαινο» και «Άριστα παμψηφεί» αντίστοιχα. Έχει παρακολουθήσει master classes στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό με τους διεθνούς φήμης πιανίστες Άρη Γαρουφαλή, Martino Tirimo και Paul Badura Skoda. Παράλληλα συνεχίζει τις σπουδές της στα Ανώτερα Θεωρητικά με τον Χρήστο Αναστασίου. Από το 1992 εργάζεται ως καθηγήτρια πιάνου, μουσικής δωματίου και ανώτερων θεωρητικών σε ωδεία της Αθήνας, καθώς επίσης και ως εκπαιδευτικός στην Πρωτοβάθμια, Δευτεροβάθμια Εκπαίδευση και σε Μουσικά Σχολεία τα έτη 2005 - 2010. Στο συνθετικό της έργο συγκαταλέγονται έργα για πιάνο, συλλογή με ‘’Παιδικά Τραγούδια’’, κομμάτι της οποίας έχει παρουσιαστεί στο ‘’Φεστιβάλ Σχολικών Χορωδιών’’ στην Παναγία Εκατονταπυλιανή της Πάρου (Μάιος 2009), η παιδική οπερέτα ‘’Η αλεπού καλόγρια’’ βασισμένη σε ποίημα του Γ. Δροσίνη, το συμφωνικό έργο ‘’Μεταχώρησις’’ γραμμένο για συμφωνική ορχήστρα και χορωδία, έργα μουσικής δωματίου για πιάνο και βιολοντσέλο, τρίο κ.τ.λ.. Επίσης, έχει μελοποιήσει ποιήματα του Δ. Σολωμού του Κ. Ουράνη και της Emily Dickinson. . Τα έργα της ‘’Δυο μικροί κανόνες’’ και ‘’Σπουδή αρ.2’’ έχουν βραβευτεί από το διαγωνισμό που διοργανώνει η National Academy of Music, State of Colorado των Η.Π.Α. με το ‘’Finalist of the International Music Prize for Excellence in Composition 2010’’ και ‘’Honorable Mention Citation’’ αντίστοιχα. Στον ίδιο διαγωνισμό το 2011 τα κομμάτια ‘’Little Tangos for Little Pianists” και “Άνευ Όρων” κατακτούν τον τίτλο “Winner of the International Music Prizes for Excellence in Composition 2011” και ‘’Honorable Mention Citation’’ αντίστοιχα. Έχει γράψει μουσική για θεατρικές παραστάσεις και έχει συμμετάσχει στο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου Νάουσας, (NIFF) γράφοντας μουσική για την ταινία "Η Επόμενη Μέρα", Επίσης συνεργάστηκε με τον Κούρδο σκηνοθέτη Shakawan Mohammed και έγραψε τη μουσική για την ταινίας του "The Face Of The Ash". Έργα της έχουν παρουσιαστεί στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής Αθηνών, και σε άλλες αίθουσες της Ελλάδας καθώς και στην τηλεόραση και το ραδιόφωνο. Επίσης, από τις εκδόσεις Παπαγρηγορίου-Νάκας κυκλοφορεί το έργο YRIA για δύο κιθάρες, που γράφτηκε για το φεστιβάλ της ALEA III του Πανεπιστημίου της Βοστώνης και παρουσιάστηκε στο Φεστιβάλ κιθάρας του Π.Φαλήρου το Φεβρουάριο του 2019 από τους Αλεξάνδρα Χριστοδήμου και Γιάννη Πετρίδη. Παράλληλα, από τις εκδόσεις Cambia κυκλοφορεί το βιβλίο και CD με τίτλο SYNAESTHESIA και με το έργο MIRIAM για άλτο φλάουτο, συμμετέχει στο CD GIMEL(2018) με έργα σύγxρονων συνθετών της Phasma Music Foundation με σολίστ την Iwona Glinka. |
RENE NIKOLAOU
Born in the capital of Greece, Athens, Rene Nikolaou began her music studies at the age of seven. She studied piano with Sophia Garoufalis and gained the Bachelor and Diploma. After that she has attended master classes in Greece and Switzerland with internationally renowned pianists such as Aris Garoufalis, Martino Tirimo and Paul Badura Skoda. She also completes her studies in Music Theory, Harmony and Composition with Christos Anastassiou. Since 1992 she teaches piano, chamber music and music theory at many conservatoires of Athens, as well as, in Primary and Secondary Education (Music High Schools). She has composed many works for piano solo (Studies, Valse Lente, Nocturnes, etc.), chamber music, and the work “Metachorisis” written for symphonic orchestra and choir. She has also composed a children's operetta called ''The fox became a nun'' based on a poem of the significant greek poet George Drosinis, and a collection of “Children's songs” part of which was presented in the ''School’s Choral Festival'' at the Cathedral of Ekatontapiliani at the island of Paros (May 2009). Her works for piano solo ''Two small canons'' and ''Etude No.2'' have been awarded with the ''Finalist of the International Music Prize for Excellence in Composition 2010'' and ''Honorable Mention Citation'' respectively at the contest organized by the National Academy of Music, State of Colorado, USA. Additionally, at the same contest, she gained the title “Winner of the International Music Prize for Excellence in Composition 2011” and “ International Music Prize for Excellence in Composition 2011” with the works ”Unconditional” and “Little Tangos for Little Pianists”. Her works have been presented at the Athens Concert Hall and other theaters of Greece, such as in television and radio. Her book and CD titled “Synaesthesia” contains a collection with works for piano solo and duets for piano and cello by “Cambia Publishing". She's engaged with the film scoring of the movies "The Next Day" in NIFF (International Film Festival of Naoussa, Greece) in September of 2014 and the film "The Face Of The Ash"of the Kurdish director Shakawan Mohammed.. She also composes music for theater shows in Athens. With her work Miriam for alto flute, she participates in the CD Gimel (2018) with works by contemporary composers of the Phasma Music Foundation and soloist Iwona Glinka. The work "Yria" for two guitars, commissioned for the ALEA III festival of the University of Boston, is released from the Papagrigoriou-Nakas Editions and was presented at the Faliro Guitar Festival in February 2019 by Alexandra Christodimou and Yiannis Petridis. |
